La transición a la democracia fue uno de los grandes temas que hegemonizó la discusión teórico política de los años ochenta en América Latina. En ese debate la obra Transiciones desde un gobierno autoritario coordinada por O’Donnell, Schmitter y Whitehead ocupó un lugar central. En este artículo nos concentraremos en revisitar críticamente esta perspectiva hegemónica, para luego delinear una perspectiva de análisis distinta sobre la transición inspirada en los aportes y cruces entre la nueva historia de las ideas y la teoría política contemporánea posfundacional.
The democratic transition was one of the great topics of the political and theoretical discussion of the eighties in Latin America. The work Transitions from an authoritarian government coordinated by O'Donnell, Schmitter and Whitehead occupied a central place in that debate. In this article we will focus on revisiting this hegemonic perspective, and then delineate a particular perspective of the transition inspired by the contributions and crossings between the new history of ideas and post-foundational contemporary political theory.
